Yes, if you require just a door without installation then you will need to measure the width and height as we will require the Brick to Brick structural opening of the doorway. If you are unsure how to measure a door opening, then please contact us as we will be happy to give advice.

Aluminum doors can be ‘thermally broken’, which means a layer of insulating material separates the inner from the outer frame to make them energy efficient. We would advise anywhere that’s leading into a heated area to be thermally broken. If it is a non-heated area then non-thermal can be considered.

Unlike wood doors, steel doors are less likely to deteriorate or bow. They require less maintenance than timber doors, they can offer a high level of security and can achieve a fire rating of up to four hours.

Powder coating is an industrial paint finish. All of our doors are powder coated and when applied to our doors, powder coating doesn’t only create a durable finish, but it also protects the doors against natural corrosion.

For our aluminium and steel doors we have a wide range of colours that you can view on each of our product pages. Non-standard colours are also available and we offer prices on request. For harsher coastal environments we offer marine greyed paint.

Steel doors need minimal maintenance. An operations and maintenance manual will be supplied with each door. Once a year the hinges and locking mechanism should be lubricated as per the manual. The surface of the door can be washed with a damp soft cloth and nonabrasive cleaning product. Do not use cleaning material which contains caustic and acid based, heavy chemicals.

Steel doors are often a good replacement choice for wood doors for several reasons. Professionally fitted steel doors are more secure than wooden doors and they are far less susceptible to weathering, rot, deterioration and insect infestation. Steel doors are also not an expensive option, and many steel door installations are cheaper than comparable wood door installations.
